All throughout April, the famed Santa Barbara Bowl venue will be holding concerts from a number of artists in all sorts of genres. From the gentle songs of experimental rock band Sigur Ros on April 7th to the likes of Radiohead, Two Door Cinema Club, Grouplove, New Order, Steely Dan, and Willie Nelson on the 11th, 14th, 18th, 25th, and 30th respectively, you'll never run short on live music entertainment at the Santa Barbara Bowl.
Connoisseurs of wine, rejoice: Santa Barbara's local vintners will be coming forth with their latest and greatest batches of high-quality local wine on April 20th through April 23rd, with events held daily over the course of this four-day festival. Highlights of the festival include the Festival Grand Tasting on the 22nd from 1:00pm until 4:00pm, as well as live music, delicious local food, demonstrations related to wine and cuisine, handmade wares from local artisans, and a silent auction.
Coinciding with national Earth Day on April 22nd with additional festivities on the 23rd, Santa Barbara Earth Day is a free event dedicated to celebrating and continuing Santa Barbara's legacy of environmental activism and sustainability efforts. The festivities will take place from 11:00am until 7:00pm on the 22nd and from 11:00am until 6:00pm on the 23rd.
Celebrating Santa Barbara's establishment at the historic El Presidio de Santa Barbara State Historic Park, this free event includes a reenactment of Santa Barbara's original founding ceremony, which was first held in 1782. Family-friendly activities, living history booths, local entertainment, tours, and vendor stands will also be set up in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara and the Presidio grounds. Come enjoy the festival on April 29th, from 12:00pm until 4:00pm.
