Santa Barbara Halloween Weekend

Santa Barbara Halloween Weekend

Vacationing over any holiday can be daring proposition. It's difficult to miss out on the traditional holiday celebrations you have at home, but it's also possible that you will discover new traditions that are even more exciting and fun than what you have been doing-you never know until you try. And while Halloween isn't like Christmas or Thanksgiving, your children will let you know if you mess up this spooky celebration; and if you are honest with yourself, you will be a little miffed yourself if you miss out on the chance to score some primo Halloween treats! If you're planning on being in Santa Barbara Halloween weekend, however, you should have no fears. We excel in spooky celebrations of all kinds!

Trick or Treating

Let's face it, Halloween is about the candy, and if you're visiting the area for the first time, you are probably reluctant to let your children trick or treat in neighborhoods where the people are not known to you. Fortunately, there are a couple of options available to you that allow your kids to dress up in costumes and collect their treats safely. On Friday, October 28th, nearby Carpinteria is offering Downtown Safe Trick or Treating from 3:30 to 5:00, and then on Halloween night, Santa Barbara sponsors its own Downtown Trick or Treat from 3:00- 6:00, so let your ghouls and goblins dress up in their scariest costumes and spend the evening filling up their goodie bags safely.

Haunted Mission

Our second favorite Halloween activity involves scaring the socks off ourselves, and what better way to do that than a tour of a real haunted house? There's no fake blood made out of ketchup or peeled grapes meant to signify eyeballs in the Santa Barbara Mission. With over 5000 former church members buried behind the church, you never know who you will encounter; but never fear-they are all friendly ghosts!

Adults Only Santa Barbara Halloween Parties

Embrace your inner nerd and dress up as your favorite superhero or villain at Blush Restaurant & Lounge on Halloween Night. $100 gift cards will be given to the best costume in each category, and the drinks and food will be delicious!
