Thanksgiving Restaurants

Most families prefer to enjoy a lovely home cooked meal at home with their friends and family members. This helps us celebrate and be thankful for everything we have in a comfortable environment. When traveling for Thanksgiving you may prefer to skip out on time in the kitchen and instead see what Santa Barbara has to offer. Luckily the city does have quite a few restaurants that will be open for Thanksgiving to help you start a new family tradition.

If you are looking for a fine dining experience that truly elevates your meal, look no further than Bouchon. This local Central Coast contemporary restaurant is complemented by local wines and found in a romantic setting. Guests will find the regular menu consisting of locally raised protein along with seasonal specials such as Dungeness crab and more.

The Thanksgiving menu also provides classic holiday fare prepared by their award-winning chefs. Casual dressy attire is encouraged when eating at Bouchon. Additional fine dining establishments also include Ca' Dario with its Italian cuisine and Finch & Fork for a Thanksgiving breakfast. We highly encourage you to place a reservation well in advance to enjoy a meal out on Thanksgiving Day.

UC Santa Barbara Turkey Trot

Most cities across the country each year hold a race on Thanksgiving Day to provide you with a chance to earn your much desired food later in the day. Each year the University of California Santa Barbara campus puts on their annual Turkey Trot the weekend before Santa Barbara Thanksgiving. This year's Turkey Trot is scheduled to take place on Saturday November 18th starting at 9:30 a.m. This year's event will feature a 5K and 10K race where you can walk, jog, or run at your own pace.

The UC Santa Barbara Turkey Trot also has a timed race where you can try and beat the clock where you run along with UC Santa Barbara staff, students, and community members. There are prizes for the men's, women's, and open divisions for each race. All participants will receive a race bib, Turkey Trot tank top, and chance to see the awards ceremony. This event stands out among other turkey trots as you will be able to see views of the ocean as you run along! Registration for the event is required to participate.

If you prefer to enjoy a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, Santa Barbara also puts on the Santa Barbara Thanksgiving Day 4 Miler. As the name suggests this is a 4-mile race and is encouraged for those who prefer a longer and more challenging option during their stay.
