Sea Glass Cottage - Cool, Fresh and Fun on the Mesa
Perched above the coastline in a peaceful neighborhood on the Mesa just a short walk from the beach, this charming cottage is sparkling, having undergone a complete remodel (2013). Every surface and furnishing has been carefully chosen to create a serene and fresh environment, echoing the cool colors of the sand and sea. Bleached oak floors, crisp white walls and rich textured fabrics in aquamarine, celadon, and turquoise grace every room. Ocean views and a convenient location make this the perfect choice for an upcoming vacation, business trip, or winter getaway.
In Great Room style, the Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen make up the common living area. Bright and welcoming, a gas fireplace and ocean views are the focal points of the space. Whimsical artwork and decor accent the neutral tones, like jewels scattered on a white sandy beach. The dining table seats 6 comfortably.
The bright and efficient Kitchen features pale gray granite counters and all appliances. All the tools necessary to create great family meals, beach picnics or breakfast on the run for working professionals are provided. Everything in this home is convenient and carefree, including the washer and dryer adjacent to the Kitchen. A breakfast bar overlooks meal preparation and adds informal seating for three.
Just outside the Kitchen is a cozy deck with comfortable seating adorned by more colorful pillows. The barbecue is close to the Kitchen so the chef can be assured of perfect results on the grill. Watch the sunset with a crisp glass of chardonnay while seated at the railing bar.
The terraced backyard slopes up from the home, past the lush lawn. A large oak tree offers shade for the Adirondack chairs below its gnarled branches. A casual picnic table at the top of the yard looks back to the ocean views from the upper level of the property. Lovely!
The Master Bedroom has a king-size bed and faces the tropical palms of the backyard. Bedroom #2 has two twin beds that have been converted to a comfortable king-size bed, making this a perfect home for two couples, or family of four. Upon request, the bed can be converted back to two twin beds (Note: Please make this request at the time of your booking to assure the best configuration for your needs) The Hall Bathroom between the rooms offers dual sinks and walk-in shower.
A sunny deck with ocean views sits atop the garage just outside the Living Room on the front side of this south facing property. More comfortable furniture includes love seat, market umbrellas, chairs, and two chaise lounges for sun worshippers delight! Book early for Summer as this is the ideal spot for 4th of July cocktails before strolling to Shoreline Park for the fireworks display. A one-car garage and driveway offer guests off-street parking for three cars.
Sea Glass Cottage promises to be the ideal destination during the popular Spring and Summer months as well as Santa Barbara's sunny, warm Autumns with its close proximity to the beach and coastal parks.
