East Beach is one of the most famous areas throughout all of Santa Barbara. It is the beach that you will probably have seen if you have seen pictures of Santa Barbara because it is incredibly picturesque. No Santa Barbara vacation is complete without a day spent in this beautiful location. These are some of the coolest things about this one of a kind beach!
About the Beach
East Beach is the first beach that you will see on your way into town, and it is a very welcome sight to travellers. You will find everything that you want from a beach: a massive shoreline with a very wide beach. Beautiful sand, cool blue waters, and amazing weather are some of the best qualities of this area.
There is also a large grassy park lined with palm trees right by the beach. This is the perfect place for those looking for a little refuge away from the sand. There is a snack shack, full restaurant and bar, and much more to enjoy throughout the miles of shoreline that make up East Beach. The historic Stearns Wharf separates East Beach from West Beach.
Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, there is no better place to frolic through the cool waters of the Pacific Ocean than at East Beach. Here, you will find a perfect place to take part in all of your favorite beach activities, like horse shoes, Frisbee, and of course, relaxing in the sand and soaking up the sun. The beach has become famous for the great sand volleyball that happens here, as it is home to countless tournaments throughout the year. The bike path is perfect for getting a light workout in the morning or taking a stroll on bike, skateboard or by foot. You can enjoy drum circles and art shows on the beach throughout the year. You can break up beach activities by checking out Stearns Wharf, where you can do some fishing, grab some ice cream and even check out the area’s famous Ty Warner Sea Center.
If you are looking for a day of fun in the sun, then this is the place for you! The beach is incredibly accessible from anywhere that you might find yourself downtown. Make sure you spend a day soaking up the sun or playing in the water at one of Santa Barbara’s most beautiful beaches during your next vacation!
