Sleek and Artistic in Downtown Santa Barbara
NOTE: 30-NIGHT MINIMUM STAY EFFECTIVE 1/1/17
Located in the heart of historic Santa Barbara's downtown, this progressive one-of-kind property was designed by internationally renowned architect Barry Berkus. It is a feast for the minimalist with a significant nod to the artistic. This 980 square foot home is fashioned to keep life simple and streamlined. Rich in the character and flavor of Brazil, the home is within walking distance to Santa Barbara's performing arts district, museums, film and theatres, historic sites, and world-class dining.
This 2008 award-winning home is an unparalleled sanctuary. The unique design was constructed on a quiet one-way street in the center of town with the savvy traveler or working professional in mind.
The Master Bedroom offers a queen-size bed under soaring 14' ceilings. A sliding door leads to the enclosed Patio. The Master Bathroom also boasts artful design with great tile work and large walk-in glass shower.
The Guest Bedroom, with queen-size bed, has a sliding glass door for fresh air or private access. The en suite private Bathroom offers a generous walk-in shower.
The stylish and open Kitchen has stainless steel appliances and sleek design. Guests can oversee meal preparation from bar stools at the black granite counter, and the open floor plan allows everyone to be an integral part of any activity. A beautiful wood dining table with bench and chairs completes the Great Room.
The intimate courtyard off the main living space is surrounded by tall bamboo gardens that provide natural privacy and Zen character.
Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry throughout the house provides ample storage that can be reached by a custom library ladder on casters with a lower portion that cleverly converts to a reading chair.
The carport with dual garage doors closes off from the street for privacy, but the plexi-glass covered arbor overhead allows sunshine and blue sky to stream though. The clever touch of heavy canvas curtains draped behind walls of curved iron gates creates an enclosed area meant for more than just a beautiful space for 2 cars. As an extension of the entry, a suspended heater and track lighting offer a welcome touch of comfort to turn an outside space into a playful and private sunroom. (Note: There is no furniture in the carport).
